This book is a revelation
A fantastic insight to the letters to the Churches of Asia from both an academic and spiritual perspective. Highly recommend this book to anyone studying John's Revelation
Well written and very informative
Excellent book.
William Ramsay was a distinguished archaeologist specialising in Asia Minor. Fully expecting to overturn views on the historicity of the Book of Acts, his work eventually showed its remarkable accuracy. In “The Letters” he sheds considerable light on the first century history, culture, linguistics and politics of the world of the seven churches of the Book of Revelation. It is a worthwhile adjunct to academic commentaries like that of G.R. Beasley-Murray and layman's commentaries like that of Paul Barnett (Revelation Apocalypse Now and Then).
I read and give away most of my books but I have marked this one as a "keeper." I am told it is one of the most cited books written when it comes to the Seven Churches of Revelation. The reader is given a detailed tour of all seven cities. Everything about each city is covered from the topography to the culture. If you are studying Revelation then this book is the book for you. I love it and could not recommend it more.
I was disappointed with this download from because it is not the complete book. I was really getting into it when I realized it couldn't get all that I kneow should be there in before the book ended. That was the disappointment. I know you expect that people will buy it from you - the whole version. In my case, that was not true. I won't be buying the complete version. Too bad for me but t's my only way to protest this way of doing business. It was unfair. Thanks for letting me vent!
